UNSW Alumni Connect is a global peer-to-peer mentoring platform that connects UNSW graduates. Once connected, alumni are free to create their own mentoring arrangement to share knowledge, build networks and enhance professional development.

We will match you with connections tailored to your own career interests and requirements around career level, field of work, and location, and alumni can manage their own relationships depending on their needs.

Become a mentor 



 

How does Alumni Connect work for a mentor? 

  1. Get registered by filling in an application form, we verify your details against our database. This could take up to 48 hours.
  2. When your application is accepted, you will receive an email prompting you to log-in to the system. This will enable you to edit or complete your profile, set your preferences around scheduling, including best availability and the maximum number of meetings you can commit to per month.
  3. Mentees (fellow alumni) can search for and view your profile, then reach out to request a chat (called a 'meeting'). This may be over the phone, a video call or a face to face catch up. It's up to you and the mentee to decide what will work best for your conversation and requirements. 
  4. If you get a meeting request, we hope you'll accept it, but you do have the option to decline if you dont have time or simply think they’re the wrong fit.

How does Alumni Connect work for a mentee?
 
  1. Get registered by filling in an application form, we verify your details against our database. This could take up to 48 hours.
  2. When your application is accepted you will receive an email prompting you to log-in to the system to edit or complete your profile.  
  3. Based on your profile, the system will match you to the three best connections. You can choose a mentor proposed by the system or you can go through the list of other available mentors and choose an alternative match. 
  4. Once you have identified your mentor, check their availability and send them a meeting request. The system will prompt you accordingly.
  5. Meetings can be over the phone, a video call or face to face. It's up to you and your mentor to decide what will work best for your conversation and requirements.
